Accommodation Spotlight: Bay of Many Coves Resort

Overlooking a stunning inlet bay in the Marlborough Sounds, this luxurious and modern 5-star lodge is beautifully nestled on a lush hillside with bay and sunset views

Bay of Many Coves is a luxury 5-star resort, set in the heart of Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough.  There so many things to like about the Bay of Many Coves resort.  Tucked on the hillside of a protected cove it combines solitude, beauty, luxury and a variety of activities that make it truly special.

All of the suites have a panoramic view of the cove, and a balcony to savour the colours, wildlife and peacefulness of the location.

Onsite world-class cuisine, spa and botanical treatments and several immersive experiences create an unforgettable stay.

The guest services personnel are fabulous and personally greet you on the dock when you arrive.  A ‘welcome drink’ is offered at the fully stocked dock bar, all to be taken at your own pace and in a relaxed fashion.

The cuisine is wonderful with several degustation menus available throughout the year.  Meals are paired with an extensive wine list, with both local and international varieties.  They will cater to whatever diet you have in mind - shown here are a couple of vegetarian options, always exquisitely presented.

There are a variety of activities available from the lodge, including a boat ride into the cove to check out the Hector Dolphins that commonly are seen in this area.  Also very popular is a hike on the Queen Charlotte Track (one of the most well known hikes in New Zealand), with stunning views of many inlets and coves along the track.  You can decide how long a hike you want and the lodge will arrange to drop you off and pick you up in several locations.

After a full day of activities (or a full day of relaxing!) you can enjoy a really pleasing suite with a living room, bedroom and balcony that connects you with the surrounding topography.

A boat transfer gets you here from Picton at the top of the South Ialand.  It's about a 30 minute boat cruise but well worth the effort.  It will be a very memorable experience.
